This campaign focused on the potential of UBC community members to change the world and tackle society’s largest challenges.

To achieve the “projector” video effect we opted for a sneaky approach in AE vs shooting practically. This was to give us further control of the timing of the footage matching the talents best take.

Talent we’re shot on green screen and then had the background imposed behind them, but what about the projection on the talent? For that we utilized some distortion maps using the edges and luminance of the original plate, composited with a slew of tricks and blend modes to really sell the effect.

The Potential Is Yours campaign collateral had massive reach over national TV, newspaper, online video, digital advertising and social media.
